Who We Are

Established in 1995 by Jeff Park who served as Executive Director of COPE (Coalition of Prison Evangelism); an international service/training organization. Our Ministry has been restructured with a brand new look, and new programs are being developed for 2009. Executive Directors, Rev. Keith and Rev. JoAnn Blackwell are licensed ministers, and provide guidance to the men and women while incarcerated, and upon release from the institutions to begin acclimating them back into society.

Our Vision

The purpose of the Freedom Ministries is three-fold:

1. To assist in attaining a strong foundation of responsible Christian behavior and habits.
2. To assist in becoming established in positive Christian community.
3. To help work towards goals in areas of spiritual development, employment, and personal and financial stability.

Types Of Activity

Bible Correspondence to inmates, AfterCare and Transitional Program for men and women being considered for release, Mentors, Office Activities, Transporting for probation/ID's and etc..., Facilitate Life Skills and Alpha Programs in the Institutions, Minister on Saturday nights and Sunday Mornings.

Location

We conduct a Life-Skills program at York County Moss Justice Detention Center. We conduct the Alpha, Mentoring, and (PTS) Prisoner-To-Society Programs at Kershaw State Correctional Institution. We minister Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at these and other North and South Carolina facilities.
