Who We Are
The Forgotten Man Ministries is a non-denominational, charitable organization established in 1966 with a mission to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ to inmates housed in the county jails of Michigan, USA. We are presently serving in 35 jails.
Our Vision
Our primary purpose is the rehabilitation of inmates through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe this is best accomplished by providing a trained and commissioned chaplain to minister within the county jail environment. Our chaplains organize and oversee evangelistic programs within the jail, utilizing volunteers and provide Biblical counseling to inmates and staff.
Types Of Activity
Our chaplains coordinate and oversee the following types of ministries in the jail: Bible distribution, Weekly worship services, Group Bible studies, Personal Biblical counseling, Correspondence Bible Courses, Bookcart & Literature ministries, Drug & Alcohol related programs, Video ministries, & special seasonal programs (ex. Forgotten Man Ministries is recognized by the Michigan Sheriff's Association and provides a 24 hour training class for volunteers in jail chaplaincy. This class is taught regionally throughout the State of Michigan. Most sheriffs require this training before volunteers may minister in the county jail. The executive director of FMM is the designated chaplain to the Michigan Sheriff's Association.
