Who We Are
We began in McKinney county jail. Transferring prisoners have initiated this group Bible study program in about 20 prisons so far.
Our Vision
Our primary interest is to help and encourage prisoners to disciple and win their companions through non-controversial Bible studies, largely based on Bible stories and using questions and multiple answers.
Types Of Activity
Our contacts, so far, have been mostly by direct correspondence with prisoners who request our materials. We would like to expand, providing outside teachers to help prisoners know and grow in Christ and to minister effectively in prison and, later, outside. We would like to involve local churches to sponsor their nearby prisons in this effort.
Location
Our only institution entered from outside is the county jail in McKinney. We are supplying materials and have correspondence with prisoners in 20 Texas state prisons.
Books we have published
We have about 35 publications in English and Spanish, and many in eight other languages. These are mostly 24 page booklets designed for conversational Bible study and for Christian worker training. We provide them free of cost to prisoners, paid for by outside donors.About Our Prison Ministry
We are related, in Texas, to Mario Gonzalez, director of the Organic Church Department of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
We serve in both English and Spanish, but are especially concerned to help Hispanic prisoners seeing that this tends to be an area of special need in the prisons and jails.
Support In
