Who We Are
Yokefellowship Prison Ministry grew out of a fellowship movement started by Dr. Elton Trueblood, a renowned author, speaker, and theologian, in 1955. Trueblood believed being a Christian was synonymous to being yoked with Christ (Matthew 11:28-30) and that we need to heed the call of Philippians 4:3 to help others, "Yes, I ask you loyal yokefellows...". Regarding incarceration, Trueblood stated, "Separation from the world for a while is justified if new life emerges."
Our Vision
Giving hope, instructional discussions, prayer, assistance and encouragement, to those preparing for release from prison and to those recently released. Groups of offenders and ex-offenders meeting weekly inside prison walls or Yokefellowship Centers to learn how Christian faith, discipline and service can change their lives.
Types Of Activity
Provide weekly, volunteer-led, structured small group opportunities where, through open discussion, offenders or ex-offenders share joys and concerns, prepare for release and participate in discipleship programs where they learn how to live a life of discipline and about the life changing power of the gospel of Jesus.
Weekly bible sessions with inmates to help them make positive lifestyle changes.
Location
Yokefellowship Prison Ministry is in fifty percent of all the adult county, state and federal prisons in Pennsylvania. YPM is also in some juvenile facilities and a few bordering states.

In October, Yokefellowship Prison Ministry holds an annual conference focused on criminal justice and ministry related issues. The 2010 conference will be held October 15-16 at Best Western/Ols Country Cupboard in Lewisburg, PA.
