Prisoner's Family Conference

The National Prisoner's Family Conference provides a forum for developing awareness; disseminating relevant information and advocating on behalf of prison families and their loved ones in prison.

Who We Are

The first-ever National Prisoner's Family Conference was initiated in 2009 by Community Solutions of El Paso (a nonprofit organization serving prison families) to heighten awareness of the unique circumstances of the prison family. The conference has been held annually in various locations around the country to enable more to attend. At the 2012 conference a Prison Family Bill of Rights was drafted for use as an advocacy and discussion tool on behalf of the prison family.

Our Vision

The National Prisoner's Family Conference offers a forum for strengthening the voice of the prison family on behalf of themselves and their loved ones in prison through networking; sharing relevant information; education and advocacy.

Types Of Activity

The National Prisoner's Family Conference is a 3 day event held annually the last week of February. The conference provides 6 keynote addresses; 28 workshops; 2 evening sessions devoted to advocacy and is typically followed by a day of prison ministry. There are ample networking opportunities and an exhibit area with literature relevant to the unique circumstances of the prison family
