Who We Are

Prison Ministry India (PMI) is a catholic religious movement for the integral renewal and rehabilitation of prisoners. It began in 1985 at St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary, Kottayam, Kerala, India by Francis Kodiyan and Varghese Karippery. In 1989 this ministry came under the Kerala Catholic Bishops' Conference and in 2000 under the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India. It has got more than 800 prayer units all over India and 10 Renewal and Rehabilitation centers for the released prisoners.

Our Vision

Everything is possible for God, even the personal religious conversion of hardened criminals. The Lord is calling everyone for conversion, if we give a suitable circumstance for this, everybody can experience a new life.

Types Of Activity

Visits, publications, art and literary competitions, educational and spiritual aids, renewal and rehabilitation centers, counseling and retreat facilities.

In all states and union territories of India.
