Who We AreThe Door of Hope Prison Evangelism is a ministry that began in the heart of some who have experienced the miraculous restoration Power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As one of the ministries in the Bay Ridge Christian Center, this work has a burden to reach out to the incarcerated and their families in NYC and surrounding areas,and to bring the Good News of God's Love and life-changing power.Our VisionOur vision is to instill hope to those incarcerated by means of preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that the listener can reconcile themselves to the King of Kings. Our goal is to empower the person as a whole, that they may mature into an effective leader in their household, leading by an example of godly love; be an active member in the local church (sharing their treasures, talents, and time); and become a productive member in society (giving back to the community).Types Of ActivityCurrently minister regularly in local jail and prison chapel services, offering prayer and godly literature. DOH is also a participant in the Angel Tree Christmas toy drive.LocationOur current geographical area is the immediate NYC area.Support InWe have a burden to begin an ex-offender transitional housing program that will assist all aspects of re-entry into society, including family counseling and re-unification, substance abuse recovery, job placement, and assistance in finding permanent housing.
