Who We Are We are Sword & Shield Prison Ministry. We started our prison ministry in 1996, and have grown to have been blessed with 5 ministers on staff, a board of 4 to help make decisions in the ministry. We are backed by our church Faith Ministries Christian Center and our whole community. We are Certified and Incorporated by the state of Ohio. We are now in the process of learning how we may optain a building for our aftercare program, we need help in that area. We are also in the process of making publications to distribute throughout other communities to explain our purpose.
We are a ministry that serve those that are incarcerated, and the ones that are released. we have been serving and ministering in prisons for a little over two (2) years. We council prisoners, family and friends. We also represent prisoners during there trail. We are new in the area of "aftercare" and would like your help. We have only a few boolets published,but looking to more.
Our Vision Our vision is grow to a staff large enough so we can preach in all the prisons and County Jails, City Jails throughout Ohio. To preach the True Word of God to those that are incarcerated and to those that are released. Our vision is to go in the school houses and community centers and preach to the young men and women about the road to life and maybe we will be able to steer some away from the road to prison.
Our vison is to speak Christ to all that are in prison,not only physicly but Spiritually. To set a mark for God in the hearts of bound and troubled a mark that cannot be erased. Our most important goal is to reach the "before" that go down the wrong road. to help father be Godly fathers.
Types Of Activity We have Sunday morning service at all our community institutions that we are in charge of. We have Sat evening Bible Study in our City Jails, we also counsel all prisoner throughout the week that so desire. My wife and the wives of the Ministers counsel family menbers and children also. We have a regular prayer meeting for all prisoners and families.
Location We Minister in: Elyria City Jail in the City of Elyria where I am the Chaplain, Lorain City Jail in the City of Lorain, OH. The Lorain County Jail in the City of Elyria, OH. The Juvenile Detention Home, also we Minister in The Lorain Correctional Institut
