Christians Against Torture and the Death Penalty

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new crearture: the old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Who We Are

Since 1995, an average of 80 different members of our christian society has maintained a private correspondence with death row prisoners in the US, mainly from Texas.

Our Vision

Christians of all denominations working together
From the outset, ACAT chose to work on an ecumenical basis, bringing together Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox and other Christians. It is independent of the Churches' institutional structures and of all political, ideological and economic groups.
Working in a Christian perspective, ACAT believes that prayer is central to its action.
