Who We Are

The Walter Hoving Home, a 24 hour residential Christ centered rehabilitation center, is a non-profit organization serving women ages 18 and over who have been involved in drug addiction, alcoholism. prostitution and other life-controlling problems. The home offers a 6 or 12-month rehabilitation program geared to rebuilding broken lives in an atmosphere of warmth, trust, support and love.

Our Vision

Helping women to form a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ and rebuilding the life that was shattered by drugs and alcohol.

Types Of Activity

The primary vehicle for the rehabilitation is the Learning Center curriculum. The residents will spend 1/2 of the day in the Learning Center working at their own pace through Co-Dependency, The Curing Power of Love, Healing for Damaged Emotions, Handling Conflicts, How to Win Over Depression, Freedom to Grow, Principles for Decision Making, Drug Education and Goal Setting.
We also volunteer in our community & churches. We have a choir and an Outreach Team.

Location

We minister in jails throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, & Maryland.

Our magazine (newsletter)

Our "Highlighter" which is published 3 times a year is sent throughout the United States. Each highlighter shares the testimony of a woman that is currently in the program and what God is doing in her life today. Subscribe

Books we have published

John Benton books have been in existence since the 1970's. Although many are out of print, we do have available "One Lady at a Time" and "Every Lady Deserves a Chance" the "Seven Standards for Christians" and many others.

About Our Prison Ministry

The Walter Hoving Home has been in existence for 38 years in Garrison, NY. Garrison is approximately 50 miles north of Manhattan.
