Leaving The Cocoon

In 2007, Leaving The Cocoon became the official women's mentoring program for the Tennessee Department of Correction. According to the Director of TDOC Volunteer Services, LTC is a “pioneer in reentry mentoring.” Leaving The Cocoon's mission has been to show Christ-like compassion to the needs of the incarcerated and help them rebuild their lives outside prison. With this in mind, LTC is helping the newly released “butterfly” to reach their God-given potential.

Ministry help request

Karlton Harris Prison Ministry

We are requesting prayer for our ministry so that God will continue to open doors so that we may help all of the men and women that are in prison, children whose parents are incarcerated, and our nation as a whole. We want to be able to provide all the resources needed for ex-offenders so that their transition back into society will be an uplifting one and a battle that can be easily won.

Prayer Request of the Hour

The last stroke of my dad, Billy (Nov 1) affected his balance which includes the process of breathing. He can't breathe w/o the respirator. The doctor said that he will be reliant on the machine should he continue to live. As my father battles this, his own father died of the same case last Nov 14.
