Who We Are
We minister to inmates at the Mt. Pleasant and the Newton Correctional Facilities in Iowa. We write a prison ministry newsletter called, The Voice of Freedom, which goes out to 1,000 prisoners in Iowa and surrounding states. We have an aftercare program in which there are 280 men and women participating, and send a letter of encouragement to them each month. Anyone in our aftercare can call us toll free 24/7 about anything that is on their minds.
Our Vision
Spreading the message of God's love, mercy, forgiveness, and healing to all people. For people to seek God's healing forgiveness in order to obtain release from past sin, crime, child abuse, and sexual abuse. For people to understand the truth in love about abortion's physical, emotional, and spiritual damage to women and men. For our life stories to contribute positive results in the common cause of rehabilitating offenders and preventing future victims.
Types Of Activity
Conduct worship services at the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility each third and fifth Wednesday of each month to an average of 65 men. At Newton, there are around 30 men who come to our service held on the third Sunday of each month. We speak a various local churches giving a message or telling of our ministry. We speak at various abortion events, giving our testimonies.
Location
Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility is located in Mt. Pleasant Iowa. The Newton Correctional Facility is located in Newton, Iowa. Being both prisons are not close to our office, we travel around 235 miles round trip to each prison. We have gone to the Linn county jail to minister to women who have suffered sexual abuse.
Our magazine (newsletter)
Our colored newsletter, "The Voice of Freedom" is sent monthly to around 1,000 prisoners in Iowa and surrounding states. The newsletter is free, printed on legal size paper front and back. The Cedar Valley Community Church in Waterloo, Iowa is paying for the postage and printing costs. If any prisoner needs a Bible, we will provide a Bible for them. Two times a year our ministry joins with the Brothers In Blue Ministry of Iowa for a four day Christian retreat/refreshing at the Mt. Pleasant prison. We are limited to the number of inmates due to the Chapel space, but we always find room for 60 men and 20 volunteers.
