Who We Are
Crossroads Prison Ministries was birthed by the Lord in 1978. Since that time, we have been in prisons across the United States, England, Irleand, Scotland, Wales, Canada, Jamaica, Argentina, and Cuba.
A video about our founder, Nick Barbetta, was made by Gospel Communications Network. A book about our founder and his wife, Nick and Gretchen, was published by Acclaimed Books. Nick was aved in prison after many years of heroin addiction and smuggling in South Florida.
Types Of Activity
In addition to serving Crossroads Prison Ministries (with close to 100 volunteers) our founder also servs as the Director of Chaplaincy Services for The Philadelphia Prison System. In that role, he must provide for religious services for 35-40 thousand inmates a year. On any given day, the population will be around 8,000 inmates.
We have almost 2,000 volunteers and 8 chaplains that are our founders responsiblity.
Books we have published
Gretchen and NickGretchen and Nick Barbetta were in the drug scene, jails and finally prison for Nick. God's love reached Nick when he accepted Christ in prison and answered Gretchen's cry of desperation one night when she had reached the end of herself.
About Our Prison Ministry
Nick Barbetta was a Board member of the Coalition of Prison Evangelists for 17 years. He has also been a member of the American Correctional Association and the American Jail Association for many years.
