Who We Are

Vision of Hope Prison Ministry is an outreach ministry of the Parkersburg, WV Seventh Day Adventist Church in cooperation with the Mountain View Conference of Seventh Day Adventists.

Our Vision

The goals of this ministry are to provide spiritual guidance to the men women and children incarcerated behind the fences of prison in the US and around the world; to make sure that those incarcerated don't feel like they are all alone in this world. Our major goal is to lead the lost to God's Kingdom by teaching them the saving grace of God's Son, Jesus, the Christ, Creator and Redeemer of His Creation.

Types Of Activity

Our programs include a quarterly News Letter to inmates and their families; A baby program providing emotional and spiritual support to incarcerated mothers and the family care givers of their children; A Pen Friend Program providing Birthday and Holiday Cards as well as general correspondence to make sure that those incarcerated don't feel like they are all alone in this world. We also provide Bible resources and Bible studies.

Location

Vision of Hope currently corresponds with inmates in NY, PA, MD, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, OH, IL, IN, TX, OK, KS, CA, WV.

Our magazine (newsletter)

Vision of Hope's News Letter is a 3 page double-sided publication that is sent out quarterly and is free to inmates and their families.

About Our Prison Ministry

We also minister to those coming out of prison, by gathering clothing and other items individuals may need. We are presently working on a Half-way or transitional home in the Parkersburg, WV area to help provide a New Start for those coming out of prison.`
