Who We Are

We are a prison ministry reaching out in love to those impacted by the criminal justice system. Kingsway began as a Mom and Pop ministry to a small prison camp in 1977 and now has volunteers ministering in 3 correctional facilities in Virginia and helps support prison ministry in Latvia.

Our Vision

Striving to be a comprehensive outreach to those impacted by the criminal justice system. By equipping individuals and churches to:

1. Minister to families of incarcerated.
2. Minister to those hurt by the criminal action of others.
3. Re-instate the Christian ex-offender to positive fellowship with others and servanthood to Jesus Christ.
4. To evangelize and disciple those who are incarcerated and their families.

Types Of Activity

Christmas Gift Project for children of inmates "Apple Tree". Birthday Cards and Summer Camp for children. Church Services inside 2 Virginia Prisons and a Diversion Center. Other helps available for ex-offenders and inmate families on individual basis.

Location

9 volunteers perform Christian Services in Augusta Correctional Center, Harrisonburg Diversion Center, and Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women. Louise Jennings is Chaplain for the women in Rockingham/Harrisonburg Regional Jail. We also have office volunteers preparing programs for ministering inside. We have helped build two Chapels in Latvia and continue to encourage their Chaplain.

Our magazine (newsletter)

The Kingsway Banner Newsletter goes to our contributors 3 - 4 times a year.

About Our Prison Ministry

Ministry founded in 1977, by Shelton and Louise Jennings in a small United Methodist Church. Kingsway is a non-denominational, volunteer organization to reach out and make a difference in the lives of those that want to change and walk the Jesus walk.

Support In

Our needs are Prayer, Financial Support and Volunteers in all area's. If you have a love for people or need to be needed yourself we pray you will volunteer. There are many opportunities for volunteers without having to preach or go inside of a prison.
