Who We Are

The Straits Correctional Facility consists of eight separate housing units contained in four buildings. Each unit houses 120 prisoners for a total of 960. The facility includes an administration building, food service unit, a program/school building and a Michigan State Industries laundry and garment factory employing prisoners from the facility.

Our Vision

Programs include academic and vocational instruction, work assignments, general and law library services, group counseling, substance abuse treatment, hobby craft, recreational and religious programs.

About Our Prison Ministry

The perimeter security includes double chain link fences, razor-ribbon wire, electronic detection systems and an armed patrol vehicle.
