The Onesimus Ministries of Norfolk, Inc. has provided a Christian structured group home for ex offenders for over 20 years. Our home in Cheaspake, VA. has 15 beds and is reserved for those men coming directly from prison. Residents are required to commit to a six month structured living program. Following the six months, residents may transition to one of our independent living homes in Virginia Beach and Norfolk.Ministry help request

Some of these men are interested in soundly biblical correspondence courses. There is a high turn over ratio. Once court appearances are completed, the men are then "farmed out" to numerous other detention centers and I lose contact with them. Add your prayer requestMy prayer is for my son Joshua. He's 19 and is doing 12 and a half years for armed robbery. He is my only son and this is the hardest thing to live with each day. He is in a level 5 prison and that terrifies me. He always tries to be the tough one,wants everyone to be his friend, and don't know how he will fare in prison. Please pray for both of us. Pray that prison will not harden him anymore than he already is. Also pray for his salvation.
