Who We Are
We have P.A.N. (Parolees Anonymous Network) which provides assistance to parolees where and when we can, depending on the area they are in and the degree of difficulty they are experiencing. Most communication is anonymous so that volunteer parolees and those communicating with us do maintain anonymity. We can not accept "collect" phone calls.
Our Vision
Prisoners may go on parole and have need for on-line assistance through use of the public library system computers (if they have no other ability to access use of computers)... In some instances, we might be able to assist them in directing them to agencies or persons who can provide assistance.
Types Of Activity
We are limited in resources and clergy for promoting activities, although we are able to provide some information for those who have no place to reside in some locations across the U.S. when they reach parole.
Location
Oakland, San Francisco, Monterey County, CA; Flint MI; Rochester, NY; also Florida, some areas of Maryland and other East Coast areas, as well as New Mexico.
Our magazine (newsletter)
" Behind the Wire-Behind the Wall" newsletter seeks to provide religious information and other content oriented information in our Newsletters to those needing it in prison. Subscription is avalailble through our website.About Our Prison Ministry
We also work with the abused elderly. We have an HIV/AIDS outreach program and operate the Western Orthodox Theological Institute (WOTI) which is an offshoot of our St. John Chrysostom University - - - for training those interested in coming to the ministry of Jesus Christ in our Orthodox Catholic heritage. We are concerned for and will work with some ex-cons who have been convicted as a Sex Offender on a case by case basis.
Support In
We need help from other prison ministry programs and persons providing such in their local area to contact us in order to establish a link and exchange other information for the needs of parolees and prisoners.
