Featured Ministry

High Country Prison Ministry

I spent about half of my day receiving inmates with personal problems. I counsel them on how to deal with loss, loneliness and spiritual emptiness. When I see spiritual openness I will ask them to tell me, "if you should suddenly die tonight, and God would ask you, 'Why should I let you into My Heaven'? What would you say? Usually a long counseling session continues from there. Though there are many other task with this ministry, evangelism is our business.

Susan Atkins

Susan Atkins died on September 24, 2009, at the Central California Women's facility in Chowchilla. A prison spokesman announced to reporters that her death was due to natural causes. Her husband, James Whitehouse, subsequently released the following statement: "Susan passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and loved ones and the incredible staff at the Skilled Nursing Facility at the Central California Women's Facility ... Her last whispered word was 'Amen.

Prayer Request of the Hour

I was wondering if you could hold my friend, Jim, in your prayers. I don't know if your ministry has an intercessory prayer group but if you can, please pray for Jim. Last year, our paths crossed at work. Jim knew I was a Christian and started asking questions about God and the purpose of life. We would talk for hours and I gave him a Bible and the Purpose Driven Life book.
