Woman2Woman Empowerment Inc. was founded in June 1998 by Minister Roxanne Harris .
Today, Woman2Woman Empowerment Inc.offers programs that serve the women of Tuscaloosa County jail, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We are a 501(c)3 service organization to incarcerated and recently released women. We offer a Alternative 2 Incarceration program and a program in the Jesus Way Homeless Shelter.
Our Vision
We are dedicated to assisting women in setting goals for personal and spiritual development, and self esteem and independence. We assist women in making a positive transition from incarceration back into the community.Our goal is to equip, encourage and empower women to be positive,prayerful and powerful in their homes communities and churches.
Types Of Activity
Empowering Choices Jail/ Prison program at Tuscaloosa County Jail. is voluntary& offered currently Mondays 9am-10am & teaches self-esteem, forgiveness anger management & self-control.We offer the Empowering Choices Aftercare Program which helps to assist women coming back from incarceration to obtain employment,resume building & life skills. The program is offered at the McDonald Hughes Center in Tuscaloosa Program Tuesdays from 9AM-11AM.
Location
Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We also teach others how to start prison programs in their areas.
Books we have published
Rev Harris has published a bible study-My Soul Turned Inside Out. Minister Roxanne has written a NEW Bible study - Just Like Us . The study delves into the lives of several women in the Bible. It will open your understanding of what is is to be a Godly woman.About Our Prison Ministry
We are seeking partners in the Tuscaloosa area assist with the Empowering Choices programs both in the Tuscaloosa Jail and in the community. We are also seeking donations for the welcome home hygiene kits given to women upon their release.
