Who We Are
"First Step on the Way", the prison ministry that God ordained, was named by the inmates themselves. We operate a small Saturday night meeting for Bible study and prayer. Now we only have the web site ministry for prayer for the needs of others and some teaching materials with prison resources.
Our Vision
We pray to continue with the "half-way" house as a meeting place for those who are released from jails and prisons. Those who are battling drug addictions and who desire to know freedom in Jesus Christ.
Types Of Activity
Bible study, Prayer, classes on job application skills, interview skills, and work ethics. Classes on nutrition, dress, and godly roles as mothers and fathers.
Location
Different counties in Virginia.
About Our Prison Ministry
Non-demonational church , Ivy Ridge Chapel, has helped with handouts, rent and support in the past. While primarly established for the women prisoners, it has been our blessings to minister to many of the men prisoners.
Called in to counsel those in jail who have suffered the lost of a parent or relative, I have been blessed by God to witness His Comfort to those who mourn.
Support In
Please pray that "First Step on the Way" may continue to honor God, and pray that funding is available to reopen the 'half-way' house for those who have been released, but are still in need of support.
