Who We Are
Firm in the Faith Ministries came about after involvement in the REC program. REC is a variation of Cursillo, modified for the prison environment. Our group began at Boonville (MO) Correctional Center in 1987. Because of changes within The Department of Corrections and the transfer of or chaplain liasion, we disbanded our team at the end of 2003.
Our Vision
After ending the Boonville REC Ministry, the Lord called several of our team members in new directions. Jeff Barkacs, who directed several of the Boonville Weekends, has gotten ordained and has founded Firm in the Faith Ministries, Inc. He has a regular jail ministry in the Pettis County Jail in Sedalia, Missouri.
Types Of Activity
Regular weekly internet services at solidgroundfc.org, Christian Music Concerts, counselling, etc. Pastor Jeff even performed a marriage ceremony in the jail recently. Dozens have been led to give their lives to Christ. Praise God.
Location
Jeff is serving only the Pettis County Jail in Sedalia, Missouri at the present time.
