Who We Are
WTALF Lk. 13:12 was established by Miss Claudine Henry who received a death sentence in 1988 becoming the first woman to be sentenced to hang in Trinidad and Tobago. In 1989, while in her cell at the Women Prison, she gave her heart to Jesus Christ and was spiritually transformed. She miraculously won her appeal in 1998 and since her discharge, Miss Henry has spent the last few years doing voluntary work in her local community of Carenage and assisting female ex-prisoners.
Our Vision
To house female ex-prisoners and deportees and to empower them to become virtuous women and productive citizens of our nation.
Types Of Activity
Training female ex-prisoners and deportees to prepare for the world of lawful employment. We help them learn life skills, moral values, furniture making and other marketable skills.
Location
While WTALF does not conduct programmes in any of the local prisons, Ms. Henry has developed strong ties with several prison ministries in Trinidad and Tobago and has devised a plan to assist female prisoners with employment so that they can assist their families financially though still incarcerated.
