Who We Are
Office of Correctional Ministries, Catholic Diocese of Galveston / Houston serves 1 Federal unit, 26 State units and 10 County Jails. We have over 150 volunteers who provide a range of services. We are involved in ministry to offenders, victims and their family members, inmate families, law enforcement officers, ex-offenders and their families.
Our Vision
Mission Statement: The Office of Correctional Ministries is the Church's response to the spiritual needs of those who are incarcerated in jails or prisons, or who have been victimized by crime and violence. In offering God's presence, the Church, through Correctional Ministries, reminds us that faith CAN be renewed through reconciliation.
Types Of Activity
One-on-one, in-prison spiritual counsel; Sacramental services; Bible studies; Devotions such as Holy Rosary, Sacred Heart of Jesus; exposition; Devine Mercy; Morning and evening prayers.
Location
Southeast Texas from Huntsville to Galveston.

The office is planning a transitional living center for ex-offenders. We hope to house 10 to 15 men by the end of 2005.
Support In
Assisting us to maintain the transitional living facility. Clothing and food donations, and financial assistance for the utility support is greatly needed.
